malacca trip 1st day - 080908

now....
i really really wanted to do this...
untill now...
only i hv time and also the pics...
haha
my 1st day trip in malacca....

so, we took the 11pm bus, (me, ping and mary)
and arrived at at around 5am..
then we (me, ping and her mom)
went to eat dim sum,
then follow ping to her dental check-up,
then to her house

*ping outside her house

ping drive me around the town
the buildings there are very similar to the buildings in Beach Street and Armenian Streets and etc...
making me feels like goin to another side of Penang which i never been before..
i dont feel foreign at all...
we went to a few temples..

i saw the Hang Tuah grave..quite dissapointed..
dont even want to waste my time to take a pic of it..

then after tat we went to the mall..
malacca parade..

*the parking lot which ping parked her car in the mall..(scared that we cant find it when we want to go back)

then after buying some snacks...
we went to the new mall...
Pahlawan Mall...
watched 'The Dark Knight'..with mary
1st time watch movie out of Penang...

*pic taken from th cinema in the mall while waiting for Mary

lunch time...
we went to eat one of the most popular Malacca delicacies
The Chicken Rice Balls
i'd seen it a lot of time on tv
but never eat it b4

* The chicken rice which we ordered for 3 ppl comes with a soup and cabbage and they use 'huang gua' instead of normal cucumber..yumyum..

*This is the chili for the chicken of course..same like what we hv in penang... but..see carefully..there is a black dot there...

then i cast a spell on it....
then...
tada...

* It turned form red to black..(haha..actually they add the thick soy souce in it..which we seldom do in Penang)

*what? i want to eat d la...stop taking pics..

the chicken rice cost us about rm7-8/person
quite expensive
each of us ate 4 rice balls
but it is worth for a try...

after we filled our stomach
ping brought me to the St. John fort for a walk...

*the folks who live around the corner will come here to exercise.. no wonder Malacca is named the historical state even the recreational place also is a historical site

then we went to the Kampung Portugis
we studied in History about the Portugal taking over Malacca and bla bla bla...
and untill now there are still their grandchildren and grandgrand children and their grandgrandgrand children stay in Malacca

and they are now the citizen of Malaysia...
quite a new thing for me..

*ping primary school is there too..
just after the beach...

*the portugal activity centre at the end of the village, it is on a beach actually, they will sing and dance in there, and there are also a few restaurants there and a souvenier shop.

*saying 'hi'

*i cant really see a museum actually, if the souvenier shop consider as 1..

then..
still i was very full...
so we decided to go to the next destination..

Bukit Cina...
the 1st stop there is the temple there
which placed the grave of Princess Hang Li Po..
and the Hang Li Po's well...
nothing special..
just the well covered with steels...
like we normally see in the temple...

the thing that cought my eyes is this...

*the tour guide showed to the HongKies tourist that even that water in the cup is full but when he put coins in it still the water wont spill, due to the water contains very high minerals (water from the bkt. cina)...very high cohesive force..

* stole this from the stall which the seller was so bargaining with the tourist from China

*it is more tasty than rambutan, i dont rally know its name but we have it in Penang also, grandma told me, but very sweet and the flesh is really smooth compared to rambutan.

then we decided to go to the top of Bkt Cina
which is actually a chinese graveyard...

tough it is a graveyard...
still it is also a place for the folks to exercise...hiking
the place didnt make me feels eerie...
so while we were hiking..
we took a lot of pics...
so enjoy...
untill when we realize that...

we're lost...
we cant find the way down from the hill..
luckily we met a couple
and they showed us the way down...
and warned us never to go there alone without knowing the routes there
because at that time the sun was getting down..
and it was quite dangerous for 2 girls wondering there..
thanks to the auntie..she is a very nice person...

then we went back to ping's house...
took a bath..
rest...
and i was entertained by Ms.Goh..

*ping's fingers dancing gracefully on the piano keys..so sweet..

then together with her little brother...
we went to eat satay celup..

almost like the lok-lok here..
but they use peanut paste to cook instead of water..

*the foods that we took..all rm 0.70 for the cucuk and those in the plates are a bit more expensive...forgotten d it is about rm2 if i'm not mistaken...

*put everything inside to cook even 'yau car guai' also got and it really taste good..

in that shop, when the customers sit there or eat there long enough for a certain period,
the customers will be given some bonus foods...
all for rm 0.70..
like big big prawns...
and abalone mushroom..my favourite..
and even longer for the second bonus..
even bigger prawns and more expensive foods for just 70 cents...
this is what we call value for money..

*the abalone mushroom

*refreshing coconut water...

then we went for a walk at the Jonker's Street..some sort like pasar mlm
then went back home at about 1am...
